However, studies also support movement and excersize as beneficial to creativity and productivity. Whether you work at home, in your dorm, or in an office cubical, this way of working will change your life. This is beyond ergonomics, health and fitness. This is about total well being, mind/body integration, and improving the quality of your life and effectiveness of your work. We challenge traditional ergonomics theory. Instead of tinkering with the desk and chair sit down office which is hopelessly flawed by nature, we completely redefine the healthy office by turning your entire room into a desk. Or rather, turning your desk into a playground. Today's office has become a stressful place to work. Stress has been proven to directly stop the brain from working creatively. That means the typical American office does not't work. It does not't support the workers in the task it is intended--to create, inspire, motivate and produce. This stress is related to several factors, but the main stressor is using the body in a way that stunts the creative flow. Our revolutionary paradigm is based on the fact that movement is essential to productivity. One study by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) showed that those whose jobs require them to sit at least six hours a day are twice as likely to be overweight as those who sit for less than 45 minutes a day at work. So what can you do to stay fit but keep your desk job? Check out these tips. Researchers at the University of Georgia found that sedentary, otherwise healthy adults who engaged in as little as 20 minutes of low-to-moderate aerobic exercise, three days a week for six consecutive weeks, reported feeling less fatigued and more energized. Findings that low-intensity exercise improves feelings of fatigue come as no surprise to Pete McCall, Exercise Physiologist at the American Council on Exercise. "If a sedentary individual begins an exercise program it will enhance the blood flow carrying oxygen and nutrients to muscle tissue improving their ability to produce more energy (the chemical adenosine triphosphate)," McCall said.
